Rami Library is a more than 260 years old building located in Eyüpsultan, Istanbul. As a result of the decision taken by the Istanbul Municipality, the restoration of Rami Library will be started and it will be used as a museum and library. The empty part in the middle of the Library will be afforested and forested with the forest planting method.

The Library, which will be transformed into the Rami Library, will include reading and cultural activity areas that appeal to everyone, including the 0-3 age group. The library, which will be a meeting point for visitors of all age groups, will have an indoor area of 36 thousand square meters and an outdoor area of 51 thousand square meters.

In the middle of the courtyard, there will be a reading room integrated with the landscape area, food and beverage areas and a storage area where national memory is archived.

Rami Library is planned to be put into service this year. In this context, the ABS Plus disposable formwork system provides great benefit to the project in terms of speed in this building, whose restoration is continuing rapidly. ABS Plus disposable formwork system is used as reinforced concrete raised slab in this project.

Raised floor areas are constructed quickly and easily with ABS Plus

In the places that will be the library area, rock wool was laid for thermal insulation after the base, guide and foot placement to prevent the cold from coming from the foundation, and the domes were installed after this application. H33 cm ABS Plus disposable formwork + 7 cm concrete, reinforced concrete raised slabs with a total height of 40 cm was applied on an area of approximately 15,000 m2 throughout the Library. The reinforced concrete floor allowed the loads from the library to be easily transported, the floor to be covered with epoxy paint, etc. and the floor to be covered with permanent materials such as epoxy paint, and the separator partitions to be built on the created floor.

Before the concrete pouring, junction box locations and cable exits were adjusted and after the concrete pouring, the cables were removed from the concrete thanks to the cable ducts easily passed under the ABS Plus disposable formwork system. An easy and fast application was made for the electrical needs in the library area.

In the future, if there is a need to bring cables from different areas to the surface, the junction boxes, whose locations were determined during the placement of the ABS Plus disposable formwork system, can be opened and cable passages can be provided flexibly. In addition, in case of any problems with the cables, the 7 cm concrete can be broken open and after the problem is solved, the opened area can be repaired with concrete again.
